Halo: Combat Evolved, also known as Halo 1 or Halo: CE, is the first Halo game. It was released on November 15, 2001.
Halo: Combat Evolved is a first-person shooter video game that was developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game was released as a launch title for Microsoft’s Xbox video game console.
The game takes place in the year 2552, where humanity is locked in a war with the Covenant, a group of aliens who worship an ancient civilization known as the Forerunners. The player takes on the role of the Master Chief, a super soldier who is tasked with leading humanity to victory against the Covenant.
Halo: Combat Evolved was very well-received by critics and gamers alike. The game sold over 5 million copies and earned numerous awards, including Game of the Year from multiple publications.
Halo 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. Released for the Xbox video game console on November 9, 2004, the game is the second installment in the Halo franchise and the sequel to 2001’s critically acclaimed Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo Wars received generally positive reviews from critics, with an aggregated score of 82% on Metacritic. The game was praised for its graphics, sound design, and gameplay, but was criticized for its short campaign and lack of innovation. A sequel, Halo Wars 2, was released in 2017.
